The presentation will address various concrete challenges contractors face.  We will discuss some of the specific challenges and how best to overcome them.

Modern concrete projects make for challenging building construction whether for high-rises, civil works, or anything in between. Owners, designers and contractors are increasingly looking for the most efficient way to help overcome these challenges. There are technical challenges but also the demands for increased quality and faster construction cycles.

This presentation addresses some of the common, and some of the more interesting construction challenges contractors face during concrete construction. Included are challenges for a number of different structural systems, concrete material requirements, connection detailing, rebar congestion, recent technology, and serviceability challenges. An update on ACI’s Constructability Committee will also be given.
