Scholarships

The Alberta Chapter of the ACI is committed to helping build our industry by supporting our local academic institutions. Currently the Chapter supports scholarships at four post secondary institution in Alberta either directly or through endowment funds. Monies from our Annual Golf Tournament are used to boost the endowment funds.

Currently we have $1000.00 scholarship at each the following institutions:


University of Alberta

The Alberta Chapter of the American Concrete institute's Prize in Engineering is awarded annually to a student entering fourth year Civil Engineering who has demonstrated an interest in concrete construction. The recipient is selected on the basis of having achieved the highest academic standing in the third year courses CIV E 372, 374 and 391. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen who has completed the third year of Civil Engineering at the University of Alberta.


University of Calgary

The Chapter is renaming the Alberta Chapter ACI Prize to the Alex Bakshan Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is funded jointly by the Chapter and the Inland Concrete. It will be awarded annually to continuing undergraduate students entering fourth year Civil Engineering and registered in ENCI 513 and 555 who have demonstrated in interest in concrete construction. The recipient must be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident who has completed the third year of Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary.


SAIT

The American Concrete Institute Price is awarded annually to a student entering their third semester that have demonstrated achievement in concrete and strength of materials subjects and have shown an interest in concrete and concrete design.


NAIT

The American Concrete Institute Scholarship is awarded annually to a second year student enrolled in the Civil Engineering Technology program and is selected based on academic achievement in the Concrete Technology Course.
